The 9600 solvent recycler comes in two styles,
spinning band distillation column and packed distillation column.
Both systems use high efficiency fractional
distillation columns to give high purity recycled solvents. However,
there are some important differences that should be noted.
Virtually all solvents can be recycled using a
spinning band distillation column. Spinning band distillation gives
the highest purity recycled solvent possible because it is the most
efficient distillation column. Another advantage of spinning band
distillation is low "hold up". "Hold up" is the amount of material
left behind in the distillation column after the distillation is
completed. If a solvent recycler is used to recycle multiple
solvents, then low hold up means little or no cleaning of the distillation
column between different solvent types.
Packed column distillation is more widely known and
is more familiar to some customers than spinning band. Packed column
distillation is not as efficient as spinning band but is adequate for many
types of solvent recycling.
